95 / ME Dialup Networking Setup
Before You Start
Obviously if your already connected these instructions are usless to the
computer you are using. Nevertheless the less, you may print them out
for future reference in case your computer is reloaded and have lost your
settings.
You must have a modem connected to a working, analog (normal
household) telephone line and have Windows configured to recognize
your modem. If you have an external modem, turn it on. For more
information, see the documentation that came with your modem.
Print this document for reference during software installation.

Create Dialup Networking Telephone
Number Icons
Double-click the Windows My Computer icon, and double-click Dial-Up Networking.
If this is the first time you have used Dial-Up Networking,
a Welcome To Dial-Up Networking Wizard appears. To step through the Wizard,
click the Next or Finish buttons, as available, to accept the defaults.
When prompted, supply the requested information for the Wizard, i.e.,
icon name, area code, and phone number.
If this is not the first time you have used Dial-Up Networking, no wizard
appears. Double-click the Make New Connection icon.
In the Make New Connection window (see figure), replace the words "My
Connection" with a descriptive phrase, ie, Altazip.
Click Next.

Fill in the Area Code and Telephone Number fields with 896-2839, and click Next.

Click Finish.
You have now completed the dialup networking
connection profile, you may drag this new Altazip icon to your desktop
for easy dialup access. it will ask you if it can make a shortcut. Click
Yes
